Our clinical mission is to provide state-of-the-art, comprehensive, evidence-based clinical care to hospitalized patients from East Baltimore, the metropolitan area, and around the world. Our educational mission is to be dedicated to the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, as well as cultivating a culture of lifelong learning. Our third mission is to promote a culture of belonging and excellence, and we are dedicated to integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work, spanning patient care, research, and community engagement.

Clinical Services

Our academic hospitalists care for a wide range of medical patients in several distinct settings at the Johns Hopkins Hospital:

  • Closed-bed Hospitalist Unit: with medical student/resident rotators and night-time coverage by nocturnists and moonlighters
  • Teaching services staffed by residents of the Osler Residency Program
  • Internal Medicine Consult Service
  • Orthopedics Co-Management Service
  • Oncology Co-Management Service
  • Step Down Unit with Advanced Practice Providers
